Hello, and welcome to my blog!
For the last fifteen years, I have served as a malware researcher. What a journey it has been! Way back in 2009, I first cut my teeth analyzing Windows malware the old school way. Run the malware on a VM or real machine, collect the dynamic behavior, and analysis to create detections. This gave me a deep knowledge of how malware works. With a newfound passion for analyzing malware, I advanced quickly. After only a couple of years, my talents were rewarded. I was given the opportunity to preform reverse engineering of Windows malware. As someone that gravitates towards the most challenging paths in life, I was excited to take up the challenge. Alas, this new challenge was cut short by a major shift within the company I was employed at the time. Thereafter, I moved onto the next most challenging path — Android malware. This evolved to becoming an engineer, developing a system to process malware and establishing a highly efficient workflow to classify. A system unlike any in the industry as a result of my unique researcher-engineer mindset.
Yes, it has been an exciting career so far. But, I'm not done yet! I am ready for new challenges, learning new skills, and sharpening past skills. Thus, this blog is born! A place for me to publish my findings of interesting Windows, Linux, Android malware. A continuation of doing what I have been passionate about for a decade and a half. Awaiting the next exciting challenge is in the cyber security space.
